What is a Postpartum Doula?
As you birth your baby into the world, you also are birthed into parenthood. The time following your delivery is referred to as the fourth trimester and encompasses anywhere from 6 weeks to 2 years of time following your babies birth. Whether this is your first or your fifth baby, you will need support emotionally and physically as you learn to listen to your baby and attend to her or his needs and your own. A postpartum doula is a support person dedicated to easing your transition into parenthood and providing support and guidance along the journey.
