Ceremonies & Rituals for Motherhood

Matresence or the journey of Becoming a Mother, is a transformative process, a Rite of Passage. Traditionally all people around the globe honored the huge physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual transformation a woman goes through to become a mother. Ritual and Ceremony is one way I can help you adjust, honor, and step into your new way of BEing.

Closing of the Bones Ceremony

A powerful and nourishing ceremony honoring the rite of passage of birth and motherhood, the physical healing needed to reintegrate into society, and closing of the gates of our bodies post-birth. It can include your dear friends and community, be a small family affair, a solo journey.

This ceremony is tailored to the birther but typically begins with intention setting, clearing of space, and sitting for tea–followed by an Ayurvedic Massage with either a full body steam or a Yoni Steam. After a guided relaxation with a rebozo (woven long cloth) to support integration of the physical, emotional, and spiritual gates of the body that are left open through the process of labor, birth, and postpartum, the final step of the ceremony is the sharing of a nourishing treat and special tea as you integrate back into your space.

Closing of the Bones requires some time before-hand to co-create a sacred space and journey tailored to you. It can occur anytime after the first 3 days postpartum, or any time we need to come back to our center and feel held and realigned.
